With Manor Oak Furniture each piece of furniture is made from solid oak. The timber is seasoned and kiln dried in preparation for the making of this handcrafted product. There is a simplicity to the design with no two pieces of furniture the same, as characteristics of the wood give each item a unique look. When using solid wood there will always be some natural imperfections. These are usually small knots, natural blemishes, cracks and slight variations in colour. Such characteristics are a part of the natural solid wood. Much of the work that goes into making this furniture is carried out by hand. You will notice the use of a traditional dowel-peg on the mortise and tenon joints. The cabinet maker hand cuts each one into place. Preparation of the furniture of hand polishing is all performed by craftemen and there may be slight variances in the panels due to the hand sanding process. Finally, the furniture is stained and lacquered. These process will give the wood both colour and protection while the Oiled Oak finish is achieved using Boiled Linseed Oil. Pieces available in the manor oak range include dining tables & dining chairs, wall cabinets, sideboards, hall cupboards, console tables, tv units, entertainment & media storage units, coffee tables & nests. All in the five different shades : Oiled, Natural Lacquer, Limed Oak Lacquered, Autumn Leaf Lacquered & Golden Acorn Lacquered. See below for a downloadable catalogue.
